What is Collaboration Circle

Collaboration Circle is a practical infrastructure for collaborative funding.

assets-11

We help organisations work together to pool funding, share decision making, and work collectively on responses to social challenges that no single organisation or funder can address alone.

Rather than creating new standalone programmes, Collaboration Circle provides the governance, operational infrastructure, and collaborative processes that allow partnerships to form and grow across different sectors, places, and communities.

This can include:

  • pooled funding programmes
  • participatory and shared decision-making
  • long-term systems change initiatives
  • place-based collaborations
  • learning partnerships and shared insight
  • cross-sector funding partnerships

We support the conditions for collaboration to happen by bringing together different perspectives, supporting transparent governance, managing funds and operations, and helping partnerships learn and adapt over time.

Collaboration Circle emerged from a recognition that many of today’s social challenges require more collaborative, equitable, and long-term approaches to funding. Traditional funding structures are often fragmented, short-term, or disconnected from the communities most affected by the issues they seek to address.

By creating shared infrastructure for collaboration, we aim to make it easier for funders and communities to work collectively, build trust, and support change that is shaped by those closest to the work.
